Hair-Bow is a Hair-Don’t

Wednesday night, adorable Alison was attacked on Project Runway not only for her ill-conceived dress design, but also for her choice of hairstyle for her model (left). Derided for creating an unflattering “Minnie Mouse” effect, Alison tried to defend her choice of blond bow of hair perched on top of her model’s head but to no avail. Looks like the Tresemme stylists backstage weren’t the first ones to have this not so bright idea. Paris Hilton (middle) and Melissa George both wore the look (would you call it hair as hair accessory?) to events in 2005. Paris has been a little cartoonish lately, so maybe the judges weren’t as far off as you might think.

This hairstyle is a definate no. While looking young and cute can be stylish (i.e. with fun and summery sundresses and such) – this hairstyle reminds me of the bows my mom used to put in my hair when I was 3. Paris probably pulls if off best because her “bow” is lower on her head – so the Minnie Mouse effect isn’t so evident. But still – common ladies – you have your own hair stylists who can do almost anything and you pick that?

I think that this look is a NO when it is so high on the head. I don’t think that it looks too bad on Paris.

I agree, it looks cute on Paris but just plain ridiculous when it’s up so high. (I still wish Alison stayed on the show, though…)

Is more than a no is HELL NO!

- Gabi on

yeah i think it looks really cute on paris but ridiculous on the others.

Not digging it, Paris’ doesn’t look like a bow from the front so that is why it looks SOME better.

no, no, no

are you serious??? paris looks like minnie mouse with that hair…why is it that it could be ridiculous hair style or stupid shoes and if paris or lindsay have it then the style becomes ‘cute’…ugh!

Fine on the runway but not off the runway.

I agree with Ellie: It looks cute on Paris (b/c it is not on the top of her head). And that is the first and only good thing I will ever say about Paris…
