You would never imagine how many compliments I get from the dark polish! I love love love Lincoln Park After Dark by OPI ( bought 3 bottles of the stuff) and one bottle of the Black Onyx by OPI. I am slowly going to ease into the black polish…not because I’m scared but because the Lincoln Park polish is simply gorgeous. I keep my nails shorter and think it’s very elegant and not “goth” looking at all!

Black is a bit too “goth” for me, but I go with a deep, deep burgundy like Revlon’s “Vixen” or OPI’s “A Man in Every Portugal.” I’m fair-skinned so it’s an interesting contrast. The key to not looking too goth or scary is to dress classically and keep jewelry to a minimum!

I do love this style, except I too am a little skeptical about wearing black. The darker reds and purples would go beautifully with certain clothes in my closet during the winter, but I think in summer, lighter shades of polish work better than dark ones.

I wore it to my office job and no one ever said anything but good things and to be honest I think the dark shades look better on long nails. Dark polish on short nails tend to make the fingers look stubby, just my opinion.

I was lucky, I have a great lady at Chanel that called and told me that they had a VERY limited supply-so I snatched up up right away. I have worn dark colors before, but I really could use everyone’s advice: It is soo hard to put on by myself, I get the edges wrong and it slips over my cuticles. Although I do get manicures, I don’t want to be a slave to my manicurist when I get the urge to put on the dark shades. Any advice on getting a nice, clean look? Those pointy q-tips to clean up?
