Help! Have You Seen This Dress?

Wanted: One totally ’80s prom dress last rocked by Molly “Nobody Puts Duckie in the Corner” Ringwald. You remember 1986′s swoon-worthy Pretty in Pink? Spunky Poor Girl (Miss Molly) falls for Wimpy Rich Guy (Andrew McCarthy) while wearing a self-designed frock that looks not unlike our beloved Strawberry Shortcake pillowcase from that era. Flash-forward 20 years and the dress’s whereabouts are unknown: It was purchased by an unidentified buyer at a movie props auction a while back. i don’t know. but molly is a regular at the starbucks in east village (with her cute little carrot-top daughter), so maybe you can track her down and beg for her help.

More than where is the dress, why aren’t there more teen idols like Molly? Guys loved her uniqueness and funky vibe, girls wanted her for a best friend. And amazingly, she wasn’t caught partying to destruction at Pure or Butter or whatever hip place. She wasn’t dressing like a hooker. She was normal and everyone loved it. Her Time Magazine cover showed how adored she was. I miss the 80s.

I don’t know either, but PLEASE don’t tell me that People wants to find it for any producers that want to remake the movie. “Pretty in Pink” is my all time fav 80′s movie and it would be so wrong if they thought of a remake! Mollie Ringwald was and still is awesome….nobody can replace she or Duckie! I too, would love to know where that dress is, what fun! =)

I dunno where to find it but holy cow…I couldn’t stand it back then and am oddly comforted by the fact that I still can’t stand it today. Some things are classics….this isn’t one of them!

I have always wondered why she had the two dresses but really only used one to make that dress. There is VERY little of the second dress in her new creation. Anyone else ever wonder about this?
